PATTERN NOTES

[Knitty's list of standard abbreviations and techniques can be found here.]

Editor's note: This pattern is an excerpt from Erika Knight's 2018-9 collection, tech edited by her staff, and has been stylistically edited to match Knitty style. The sizing does not match our usual size range, but we hope our readers will find a suitable size among those offered.

When changing colours in intarsia, twist the two yarns around each other on every row to avoid making a hole and always cross the yarns over on the WS of your work.

When changing colour at the centre of a row to create the mismatched intarsia stripes we recommend the following technique to avoid numerous ends which would require sewing in: Cast on as per the pattern with A and B and work until the first colour change. Do not cut this working yarn – leave the balls and then join in two new balls in the correct colours and work with these until the next colour change. Continue swapping each time you change colour.
