Rhapsodizing over Rhinebeck

Until last weekend, I was one of the curious masses. What could Rhinebeck be like? It's all fuzzy animals whose fleeces burn my hands and give me colds. Is it worth driving all that way? What could you possibly do for 2 whole days?

Let me tell you.
1. it IS worth the drive
2. two days would JUST be enough. actually, i'd like to live there
3. there is a lot of stuff to enjoy, even without wool, alpaca, mohair, llama, angora and the like [which you can find in such abundance that a wool-loving person could lose their mind over it all]
4. because there is MORE SILK than you could ever even dream of
4a. i was in heaven
5. mud was NOT an issue

Okay, enough lists.

There is so much to tell, so for this post, just enjoy the photos. [Click on the sheepy above to get to Flickr.]

Thanks for the pics, doll. I missed my RB this year, but next year, well, let's just say, I'm saving $ right now.

Great pics! I didn't take many. Just some of the sheepdog competition (some talented dogs, those) and some adorable twin lambs with their mommy. I didn't think it was possible, but looking at your pics made me wish I'd bought MORE stuff. I'm glad the sun finally came out and the weekend turned out to be beautiful. And, I too have succumbed to the siren call of the drop spindle.

i'm so sorry i didn't see you up there! my friend ann and i drove up for the day on saturday and i bumped into lot of friends, but no you. sniff. hope to see you soon. it just ain't right.

Thanks for posting the photo's. I missed Rhinebeck this year due to work and family obligations. I should have played hooky. Rachel

I was at the Bosworth booth while Emma Jane was teaching those girls to spin. Wasn't the dad's pride fun to watch? I think Sheila B. was teaching me how to use my new spindle when Emma Jane checked out her purchases.

Wonderful pictures, all of them ... some really great sheep portraits in there.

Fantastic pictures -- they *almost* make up for my not being able to attend. All that gorgeous wool! All those vendors boothes! It all looked so fun! Can't wait to read details!
