catchup

you might be wondering:
1. how was Snakes? it was hysterical. i think the people at other showings got even more into the spirit of what i'd expected [yelling, throwing rubber snakes, rocky horroring it, basically], but still - full of gore, gratuitous snake bite locations and an amazing scene near the end which i can't even hint at because it would ruin it. it's got to do with the big dude in the orange shirt. and, of course, the LINE. also, watching Jen knit a sock through the entire thing.

2. lacewings is gorgeous. finished pictures to come. mayhap i can bug someone at LK on wednesday to oblige. i also managed to get a few necessary photos for No Sheep as I was blocking it.

3. work? i seem to have taken the weekend off. don't tell my editor.

i am also in design hell. i can imagine that many designers can pull a stitch pattern out of the sky when they need it and it's perfect. me, however -- i'm the one that's swatched about 12 patterns, and none of them are working for the piece i need to design for BGK2. don't tell jillian.

seriously, i have pulled every single stitch book out off my shelves, gone through them all page by page, and none are right. once again, i have to put it aside until i can see more clearly.

i am in restless, not sure where i'm supposed to be mode. hoping it will pass soon. i have stuff to do.

Comments:
full disclosure here -- I'm nothing like a knit designer, and I'm barely a knitter --

have you tried roughly sketching what you'd like the texture to look like? Not imitating a real stitch, just kind of brainstorming on paper. Maybe that would generate ideas or a different stitch direction.

uhm hum, well, see what happens when you no longer bless us with your presence in chat? You know if you hit it at the right time you'd leave with THE stitch and then some (:

You saw the movie??? I can't. I'm sorry, I just can't.
I'm knitting a little sweater right now out of Cascade Pima melange - being a fairly new reader to you - I know you look for wool alternatives? This is a great silky feeling yarn, with a nice hand - it's got to be one of the nicer cottons I've worked with and it doesn't make my hands ache like some toughter cottons can.

I 'm off for a week at the lake. I'll be spinning on the dock on the bay, watching time go by.
No SnB for me this week. I'll be missing ya all.

bye Rachel H. luv Denny

have heart, you'll find to perfect stitch pattern. It'll probably hit you when you least expect. Shower thoughts, is what my hubby calls them.

fyi - did not drop a single stitch...the tension got a little tight at points but not one stitch got dropped;c)

I've been practising knitting with my eyes closed to help the process...OCD? maybe.
