you wanna see progress?

i'll give you some progress, baby.

that's about 2-2.5 hours of knitting. see? not so bad at all. i am past the danger zone [aka dropped stitches running right to the cast on and causing me to shave my head], so i just keep a small crochet hook nearby for the occasional stitch that slips off the needle and keep on trucking. it's a great KIP project, and as my imogen sweater gets bigger [i'm at the first sleeve already!], it's much more portable, too.

are you knitting along with me? i've made a button for us that you may feel free to poach and use at will.

free a laceweight prisoner from your stash!
choose one, wind it into a ball and cast on!
just because it's tiny and delicate doesn't mean it won't be fun to knit!

Liberate Your Laceweight!

Comments:
That ravishing violet shade of Shoalwater Bay silk laceweight is STILL in it's basket at Churchmouse. I can almost hear it calling to me to be liberated... :)

seriously? debbie, how can you resist? i had to make myself choose...and then when i came home, i found Indigo Moon laceweight silk in purple [snork] which ended up coming home with me too.

also, please send Mora.

Sheer willpower? Sheer foolishness? :)

Would you like some of the new Mexican Chocolate from Mora? Cinnamon-y goodness!

I'm feeling the call of the Valkyrie!

2.5 hours - let's see, the new PBS Jane Austen last night was 1.5 hours, then perhaps the new Sarah Conner Chronicles for the last hour?
Hee!

actually, most of the knitting was done in public. i'm making such progress on the imogen sleeve that it's my at-home knitting.

in front of jane austen? you bet. :-)

and debbie, you are MEAN. i can't imagine how good that mexican chocolate must be, and maybe it's better that way. snif.

valkyrie on, kim!

You should come with a warning label! At first I thought you had cracked (too many long hours at Knitty)--now I see my self thinking hmmm maybe she's got something here. Maybe I could... YOU are dangerous.

I am impressed with your knitting speed...that is something I need to catch.

She will be your new best friend and you will wear her everywhere.

Just enticing you to visit again, Amy! Did I mention the Malbec Pear Sorbet?

Oh, I checked this afternoon and there are three, count 'em, three skeins of the violet left. That's enough to make a Frost Flowers and Leaves, babe. Anyone want to take over my job and family for the next month or two or three?

Your scarf is going to be beautiful, and there is more of your colorway as well if you need it.

Seriously. Freeing my laceweight is a brilliant idea! I've finally sucked it up and almost finished a pair of socks. I think I can muster the strength for some of my teensyskinytastic yarn wihout fainting. Maybe....

I am on WIP overload though. ;)

I can't decide if you're completely brilliant or completely insane!

That really is a great idea. I've got a skein of Handmaiden cashmere that really deserves better than to fade away into the stash. Liberated lace-weight, here I come! (now, what to knit...?)

I just came here thinking that I might join in with this and what do I find? :) I have some varigated malabrigo that is wonderful and soft (for a sheepy girl) but the colors seem to obscure any lace designs that I try.

Yay!

OK girl, I 'll liberate my laceweight this year. I promise !

I've tried using the varigated laceweight or sockweight as a carrying yarn with sport or worsted weight.

Easy way to make colorful scarves and you can use bigger needles too.
