My sweet Vespa

Doods. Today was my first scooter rally -- The Twisted Wheel Scooter Rally in Toronto. Rallies are basically a reason to ride together, compare and compliment scoots and get ideas for what you might want to do to yours next.

There was also a raffle for a brand new vespa [I didn't win], and contests in all sorts of categories. Surprisingly, I *did* win one of the judged awards: Sweetest Modern Scoot. I guess everyone was won over by my pink leopard seat cover and matching pink sparkly tassels. There's also a pompom hanging from my rear rack in sparkly purple. Clearly, the sparkle appeals.

Take a peek at my photos for the day if you like Vespas too. There's a purple one in there that I will wager you have never seen the likes of anywheres. [And it won for Sweetest Vintage Scoot. You ain't kidding.]

Congratulations! I think I'm getting a picture of the Vespa demographic based on you and the other winner! Whoda thunk the vehicle of choice for the Italian macho man would be so wonderfully girly over here?
 
I am a bit jealous! I started looking at Vespas month ago, but here in Seattle the waiting lists are just immense right now, so I may have a *long* time before I get a scooter.
 
...now i just need to find one that seats 5. some days i don't like having kids. like the ones on which i can't have a vespa.

Where in god's name did you get that seat cover? I NEED it. I have a Yamaha Vino 125, and the hot leather seat kills my little butt in the summer.

Vespaknitters! Nice to see other knitters on two wheels. I ride motorcycles AND knit- a great way to connect with other women at rallies, who are bored to death with the fuel injection discussion

I just got mine a couple of weeks ago, actually, and its an LX150 (I think yours is too?) in the exact same color! Rock!
