Sock Summit 2009. Yo.

Okay, so everyone else in the interweberverse has blogged this already, so you might already know, but just in case...

I'm on the teacher list for Sock Summit 2009! Also [!!!] This is flattering and exciting enough, being asked to teach by such illustrious organizers and knitting icons [aka Blue Moon Tina and Stephanie/Harlot and the goddess Cat]. But Steph warned me when she called to discuss details that the teacher list would blow my brains out, and it has.

There are designers who I've gotten to publish in Knitty but never had a chance to meet in person. There are designers I've published AND met. There are lots of people I've admired for a very long time and wanted to meet. And of course, there are good friends from all over who will be gathered in one place at one time, both teachers and students.

This promises to be an unforgettable experience. I am so honored to be included and so excited about what will take place in Portland that weekend.

Plus it means I get to drink Stumptown again.

Amy,
I'm thinking this event is really good for knitting events -- the list of teachers is totally amazing, the enthusiasm is just vibrating, and competition is a good thing (yeah, I'm looking at other major fiber events that don't treat teachers very well).

Now I have to figure out if I have enough pennies to go myself!

I really want to go to this, but every time I mention sock summit around my husband he has to supress giggles.

So when I read that, I thought it said "... promises to be an unpleasant experience." And I thought your cheese had done slid off your cracker.

Must read more slowly.

That teacher list is insane! You're in good company - and totally belong!

Hi Amy,
I had to come visit your site — after you left such a sweet comment on my blog!
What a wonderful resource Knitty is! Makes me wish I could get my fingers to cooperate with my brain enough to make any thing other than a scarf!
Congrats and best wishes!
Nancy

I am so beyond excited that you are coming back to Portland. I had such a great time in your Tuscany class at Knit/Purl back in May of 2007 (I'm Mary Potter) And I weep tears of joy everytime I see the teachers list. It is really really amazing. Can't. Wait. Until. August.

Oh, and I discovered that Star Athena works at my favorite LYS, Twisted, and I totally geeked out on her. Poor thing..

See you in August.

Wubbies!
