If you are living in or visiting Brooklyn, New York, you really should swing by SpaceCraft. It's a fabulous communal environment where you can learn all sorts of crafts in a community atmosphere.

Now that the sun is down and that nice lake breeze is making things cooler, I'm off to work on my current sweater!

Thanks for mentioning my Knitting the Camino blog. I hope people will be inspired, both to walk the Camino themselves and to make a donation to Alzheimers support and research when they read the blog.

You can't possibly be writing from the GTA, if you are looking for relief from the sun!!!???

Are you somewhere more exciting, or did you luck into a pocket of summer?

This isn't a comment about the current blog, but a request for future content. I'm a new spinner, with only spindles for now. I'm in a warm part of the country, and can't wear wool, anyway, thought it's great fun to spin. Could you discuss some of your favorite spinning fibers? I really want a wheel, but don't know if I can justify it as a non-wool wearer.

Too warm to knit? On the contrary, this is the most beautiful summer I can remember in the Chicago area (& I'll be 66 in a few weeks.) Except for a couple of periods of cold & heavy rain, most days have been like today - warm around 80F, sunny & low humidity. A perfect summer day IMHO. Usually in Chicago, it's highs in teh high 80's or 90's with high humidity - the kind of weather where your clothes stick to you & you feel grouchy & don't want to even look at yarn much less touch it (except for socks which are a world unto themselves.) I completed one Wonderful Wallaby in a size 8 for one grand & am now about a third of the way done on a size 4 - both in superwash. I can't imagine having done this in any other summer I can remember.
