First glimpse of Hawaii!

I'm flying!

Today, my kind and fun hostess, Dorothy, took me up to the North Shore and killed several birds [nothing actually died except the shave ice] with one trip.

Everything's in the Flickr stream...take a peek if you'd like to see what I've been seeing so far.

BTW, in case you hadn't heard, I'm on Oahu to teach the Tuscany Shawl class and give two lectures [No Sheep For You and All About Knitty] at the Hickam AFB Arts & Crafts Center. Everything happens this Saturday, Nov 14th. Any remaining spots are now open to the general public [you don't need to be in the military to sign up]. Details are here. Come out and see me if you can! We'll have a blast!

Oh, the happy honu! He was super cool. :) I'm having a great time showing you the island. Tomorrow we conquer the flea market!

It's so cool that you get to travel to Hawaii to teach. I hope you have fun and get to see everything you want!

Tuscany was my first shawl. I was a lace virgin until that one. Loved each stitch of it! Thanks for such a great pattern and book. ;D

Have a blast in the land of ukuleles! :)

...and speaking of 'ukes, it sure is a great thing you brought yours along - I had a great time with you at the music lesson yesterday. Turns out I'd heard of your jam group before - my husband had discovered the 'uke player/singer/hula hooper on YouTube and asked why I didn't also hoop when I was playing. Sheesh! It's all I can do to sometimes sing along! Now to find some 'uke music that has knitting references...

I just visited your Flkr pictures and I feel like I've just had a mini Hawaiian vacation.

Have a wonderful time.

What a cool excursion! Please come to DC! We don't have flying tortoises, but we do have a building full of excitable legislators!
