A dynamic sweater knitted in simple K2, P2 rib, slightly flared for an easy and flattering fit.

Snug-fitting sleeves and high armholes sit perfectly under jackets or coats.

The neck can be worn rolled down or as a marvelous hood designed to beat anything winter can throw at you.

The first "giraffe" was knitted in a freezing Paris winter. The alternative was to run home to an Australian summer!

FINISHING

Press lightly with wrong side facing, pressing ribs open. (This will allow the fabric to drape, rather than cling as ribbed fabric usually does.)
Join side and sleeve seams.
Join sleeve to armhole, starting at top of side seam and matching row to row until you reach the sleeve BO.
Join sts to rows, missing every third row on armhole edge on either side of shoulder seam, to make sleeve top fit perfectly.

Iron all seams lightly with wrong side facing.

ABOUT THE DESIGNER

Rachelle has now been knitting for longer than she cares to remember.

Starting with her own garments, she was soon asked to knit for private clients all over Australia and internationally. Then came work with yarn companies -- designs, colors, knitting books, demonstrations at knitting forums, magazine patterns, covers, features, television, the lot!
Constant questions raised by contact with the knitting public prompted a knitting book, which is online at her site.
