Yeah, that one
on the left. It's a simple cotton
vest I designed for myself a while
ago. I put in short rows to improve
the fit, and it's not a bad vest,
but it's nothing spectacular.
But people go
nuts with the compliments when
I wear it. And I finallly realized
why. It's the color. Happy bright
If you're like
most of us, you've got a lot of
pretty tame colors in your handknits.
Because they're safe. We think
we won't tire of them. We often
save the bright stuff for our feet
or hands -- screaming-golden sock
yarn seems less threatening than
a screaming-golden cardigan. Except
maybe we shouldn't. Maybe we need
some color on us,
especially in our sweaters.

time you're at your LYS. Pick something
that makes your eyes sparkle more
or your cheeks look rosier. There's
plenty of time for grey, brown
and black when fall and winter
return. Grab some color and celebrate
the return of sunshine!
